The contest is being run as a side program to the Power Conference 2024 via an online form. You can participate by filling in your registration details in the online form. By completing the competition form, you express and confirm your acceptance of these competition rules, which are posted on the conference website.

Prize

Duration of the competition and announcement of the winners

The ‘Scan – Play – Win QUIZZ’ contest will take place on December 6, 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Prizes will be handed over immediately to winners who are present. If a winner is not present, the organizer reserves the right to randomly draw another winner.

Competition rules

These rules (the “Rules”) are the only document that binds the rules of the “Scan – Play – Win QUIZZ” consumer competition (the “Competition”). The Competition will be available via an online form for attendees of the Power Conference 2024 in Prague.

Competition organizer

The organizer of the competition is DataBrothers s.r.o., with registered office at Karla Englis 3221/2, Smíchov, 150 00 Prague 5, ID No.: 07080794, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, file No. C 294333 (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”).

Date and place of the competition

The Competition will take place at CUBEX Centrum Prague (Na Strži 2097/63, 14000 Prague), at the Power Conference 2023 on 1 December 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition Period” and the “Competition Venue”).

Contest Participants

Participants of the Competition may be persons of legal age over 15 years who are attending the Power Conference 2024 and who complete the on-line registration form. By doing the above, the participant also expresses and confirms his/her acceptance of these Rules.

Employees of the Organizer, partners of the conference, as well as persons close to them are excluded from the competition pursuant to Section 22 of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code. The Organiser reserves the right to exclude such participant from the competition without claim to the prize or justification in the event of suspected violation of these Rules by any of the participants or any other person who helped the participant to win the prize. Any entrant who fails to provide all required information or who provides false, incorrect or illegible information, or who fails to confirm acceptance of these Rules or who fails to comply with any other condition of participation in the Contest will not be entered into or may be disqualified from the Contest.

Principles and conditions of the competition

An entrant enters the prize competition by completing the registration form and answering all competition questions. Each participant may enter the competition only once.

The Promoter is entitled to verify the identity of the entrant when handing over the prize by asking the entrant to sign an affidavit stating that he/she meets the conditions for participation in the competition as set out in these Rules. By refusing to sign such an affidavit, the Contestant will be disqualified from the Contest and the prize will not be awarded to him/her.

Winner

All contest participants who fulfill the conditions, i.e., complete the registration form and answer all questions correctly, will be entered into a prize draw. The draw will take place at approximately 17:45, at the end of the program, on the main conference stage “Božena,” using a ‘wheel of names’ for random selection. If insufficient participants meet the conditions or prizes are declined, the organizer reserves the right to repurpose forfeited prizes.

Announcement and contacting the winners

The winners will be announced in person on the day of the event, at approximately 17:45 at the end of the program, on the main conference stage “Božena.” To claim a prize, the winner must be present at the time of the announcement. If the selected winner is not present, the organizer reserves the right to randomly draw another winner until a present participant claims the prize.

The prizes and their distribution

The winner will be announced in person on the day of the event (at the end of the panel discussion as per the conference programme) by the Promoter or will be contacted by email with information about the prize and how it will be fulfilled, no later than 30 January 2024. For the purpose of handing over the prize, the Promoter is entitled to ask the winner to provide personal contact details, i.e. name, surname, telephone number or other personal details required by the Promoter for the purpose of settling the prize.

The prize will be handed over to the winner within 30 days from the date of announcement of the winner in the competition.

In the event that, for reasons not attributable to the Promoter, it is not possible to contact the contestant and inform him/her of the prize in time or in the event that it is not possible to hand over the prize to the winner in any other way, the prize shall be forfeited without compensation to the Promoter.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or non-delivery of the prize notification or for any loss, damage or non-delivery of the prize itself due to reasons attributable to the competitor.

Processing of personal data

The personal data of each participant in the competition in the following scope: name and surname, e-mail address, company name and, where applicable, other personal data required by the Promoter for the purpose of settling the prize, provided by the participant in the context of his/her participation in the competition, will be processed by the Promoter, as this processing is necessary for the legitimate interest of the Promoter, i.e. for the purpose of running the competition, informing the participant about the prize and handing over the prizes. The Promoter is therefore the controller of this personal data.

The provision of the aforementioned personal data is a condition for participation in the competition, informing the participant about the prize and handing over the prize. The above personal data will be processed for a period of one year. After the purpose of processing has expired, the personal data of the participant will be deleted unless there is another legal reason for further processing.

The participant of the competition has the right to request access to his/her personal data, its correction or deletion, or restriction of processing, and to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability. The processing of personal data by the Organiser is subject to the supervisory activity of the Office for Personal Data Protection, which may coordinate its activity with other national authorities in other Member States of the European Union. If a participant in the competition has the impression that any processing of his/her personal data is carried out in violation of the law, he/she has the right to lodge a complaint against the processing of personal data with the Office for Personal Data Protection at: www.uoou.cz. The participant may contact the Organiser at any time at the address indicated in the header of these Rules or at the e-mail address info@databrothers.cz.

Other terms and conditions of the competition

The Participant must not interfere in any way with the technical security of the servers on which the Competition is held or disrupt or endanger the operation of these servers.

The Promoter reserves the right to shorten, suspend or cancel the Competition or amend the Rules without giving any reason. The Promoter also reserves the right, without giving any reason, to substitute the prizes under these Rules with other prizes which are an adequate substitute.

There is no legal entitlement to any prizes in the Competition. No legal action may be taken to enforce participation in the competition or prizes. In the event that any changes are made to the Competition Rules, these will be made in writing in the form of an amendment and published in these Rules. Such amendment shall take effect upon publication as set out in the preceding sentence. The Promoter shall not be liable for any damages caused in connection with the use of the prizes. The Promoter shall not be liable for any defects in the quality or functionality of the prize.

The Promoter is entitled to decide all questions and disputes relating to this competition at its sole discretion and without giving reasons. The Promoter hereby assumes no liability to the entrants and they are not entitled to any other consideration from the Promoter. The Promoter is not responsible for any technical problems arising from the transmission of data by electronic means. The participant undertakes to provide only true information in the competition. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems with the functionality of the website where the information about the competition will be published.

The competition and the relations between the contestant and the competition organiser are governed by the law of the Czech Republic.
